Publications by Dr Tessa AdamsThe Feminine Case Contributors include Tessa Adams, Marie Angelo, Margaret Clark, Andrea Duncan, Joy Schaverien and Shirley Wheeley.
The chapters deal with a range of issues and aim to promote further discussion. One theme discussed in the book is the way in which feminine language is formed within a masculine domain and how it can and is changing. Works of literature, notably those of Charlotte Bronte and The Tempest, are explored and examined in conjunction with Jungian themes. The feminine in relation to the maternal, and in its lack of relation to the divine, are two other engaging topics discussed in this volume. This collection involves the reader in a welcome debate on the role of the feminine in the Jungian world.
The Male in Analysis: Psychoanalytic and Cultural Perspectives Synopsis: In contrast to the plethora of publications focusing on femininity and psychoanalysis, publications on the analysis of masculine issues are rare. This book redresses the imbalance. It focuses on masculinity as it is inscribed in the language of psychoanalysis, particularly the Freudian exploration of the Oedipal Conflict, and in the practice of psychotherapy. Individual chapters address the historical positioning of the male psyche as well as the various contemporary debates that can be brought to bear on what it is to be male.
