Lisa Appignanesi will explore the cultural representation of psychoanalysts in literature and contemporary imagination.
Lisa Appignanesi is a best-selling novelist; several of her novels – Sanctuary, The Memory Man – have psychoanalytic themes. Co-author of Freud’s Women, her latest publication is Mad Bad and Sad - A History of Women and the Mind Doctor. Lisa is former Deputy Director of the ICA, Chair of the Freud Museum London and President of English PEN. Her lecture will be followed by a conversation with Guild Members Tamsin Palmer and Anne Worthington and discussion with the audience.
